Meet Danilo Laubsch, one of Boyd Sign Systems’ skilled sign fabricators and our back-up router operator. With an eye for detail and a passion for craftsmanship, he helps bring signs to life from blueprint to finished product.

Before coming to Boyd, Danilo worked in the HVAC industry as a shop worker but knew he wanted a career change. That search led him here — and he hasn’t looked back. “I was looking for a career change… then I found Boyd Sign Systems and I’ve enjoyed working here since.”

Danilo’s favorite part of his role is the craftsmanship that goes into each sign and the collaboration it takes to get the job done right. When describing the team dynamic, he puts it simply: “I’d say our team is like a cog of gears.” Each person plays a role in keeping projects moving forward smoothly.

He especially values working with his coworkers and says that the people make each day worthwhile.

For Danilo, tools are more than equipment — they’re extensions of his craft. His favorite is the X-Acto knife, which he’s mastered for accuracy and versatility. He also loves both the laser and router, appreciating the precision and possibilities they bring to projects.

Attention to detail is central to his process. “I ensure accuracy by paying attention to detail and looking over the blueprints to get it perfect.” That focus has helped him develop skills he never expected to learn — from mastering the knife to operating advanced machines.

Danilo has a creative side outside of sign fabrication — he used to make beats and record lyrics. Music still plays a role in his day-to-day; he says any punk rock song gets him energized for work. For fun, he enjoys video games, camping, and relaxing.
