Boyd Sign Systems, a wholly owned division of the Boyd Investment Company – a strong Denver institution of business and commerce for 65 years, was started in 1989. At that time, our main product was custom sandblasted and hand carved wood sign systems for resorts in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean. As demand for our services increased so did our need for knowledge of the American Disabilities Act, as applied to signage, and the effect it had on sign design and fabrication. Sign system design and placement were becoming an exacting science that needed to address all codes, allowing everyone safe access to a property.

Our sign artistry is constantly being reshaped, as we, along with the sign industry continue to evolve. We complimented our shop equipment and carving tools with a CNC routing table and engraving equipment. We moved from the drawing table to computer drawing programs for better accuracy as demanded by A.D.A. tactile signs. We educated ourselves in the art of wayfinding, to learn the proper sign placement needed to effectively move people through a property. We obtained equipment to create tactile signs and found a broader market for our services, while continuing to offer each client a custom sign program reflecting the highest craftsmanship in design and fabrication.

In 2007 we moved into a larger facility and added another CNC routing table, a larger molding/casting department, and we also became a UL electrical sign supplier. This increased our production capabilities dramatically to meet the growing demands for our services. We continue to challenge ourselves with our designs and our fabrication processes to keep competitive in the marketplace and maintain excitement in theworkplace.
